How CrimeCompare works

A simple tool for comparing crime between two England postcodes. No signup, no jargon.

1

Enter two England postcodes

Type in any two valid postcodes in England. We tidy the format and check them against the official postcode database.

2

Choose your search area

Pick a walking time or distance around each postcode so you compare similar areas around each home.

3

Review crime, severity and density

We pull Most Current Police Data, group it by month and type, and show crime totals, severity mix and crime density per km².

What CrimeCompare shows you

Clear, comparable crime statistics around each postcode – not just raw numbers.

Official Police data (England only)

We use street-level crime data from Police.uk and the ONS Postcode Directory to map crime to England postcodes only.

Crime totals and key categories

See total recorded crimes plus key categories like violence, burglary, public order and more for each postcode.

Severity and crime density

Serious crimes count more. We show a severity-weighted score and crime per km² so you see how intense crime really is.

Recent trends, not just one month

See how crime changed over the last 3 months around each postcode to spot stable areas versus short-term spikes.
